For someone with pagan roots like myself, the New Year typically starts arond the solstice -- so am already starting my year. Thus far it's been actually more productive than I thought. I've taken extended holiday at work (if not going further to the next step)... And I actually got 2 productive things I've been putting off forever accomplished with relative ease but a lot of pain: registering my car and paying off all my parking tickets -- this came out to a gargantuan amount which would have bankrupt most people.
The other productive thing was dropping back into yoga class. 1.5 hours of intense slave driven asanas which kicked the ass of my yoga-dropout body. By the time I got to the corpse pose, my whole body was burning (meaning I've got a lot of resistance going on at the moment), and further the corpse pose itself was burning for me!! (for the yoga-impaired amongst you, the corpse pose is "lie on your back and focus your awareness pose that is like the welcoming closing to the end of an intense session). As horrid as this sounds, this is actually a big step forward from where I was a few months ago.
So in my recent practices in both qi gong and yoga, I noticed a bit of a left-right imbalance. Actually, I should say I noticed a huge massive left-right imbalance. During one of the modified half moon poses I found that I had great balance on my right side, and while I had innate balance on my left side it wasn't working out and I was falling over -- it had trouble processing it even though it
I noticed this in qi gong as well where my right side was forming massive powerful qi balls but my left side was almost flipped. While left right balances are common, this is something really extreme and recent too -- when I was practicing yoga in my early 20s the imbalance existed but not as marked and near polar as right now....
....
I got the feeling before but now I really get the feeling: it's a mystery and the answer to this mystery is also the answer to what 2ct2 did to my brain. I need have to track this down. If anyone has any insight they would like to share, please pass it along.
Oh also I took a 2 hour crash course in dutch so I can speak to like the dozen people I know in amsterdam. Ik wil het Nederlands spreken! This is just to keep my language overloaded brain on it's toes: when I walk into an indian restaurant these days especially with Seth Schoen and have to converse with the waitstaff in hindi [inevitably getting the waitstaff to mumble something about ABCD {American Born Confused Desi}], I always have this intense urge to say "como?" and "obrigado". Now I don't know whether to say "wat?" or "como" :)
Okay now back to playing civ 4 and squandering my free time.
